Background of Isabel Barbarin
Isabel Barbarin was born in Taiwan. Immigrating to the United States at the age of 4, she has lived in the United States for her entire life. Barbarin Law Group is located in Durham, North Carolina, and Ms. Barbarin exclusively practices immigration law. With many years of experience in the ever-changing world of immigration law, Ms. Barbarin feels it is her duty to ensure that every client know their immigration rights, and understands the laws applicable in their individual situations. Ms. Barbarin holds a bachelors degree from the University of Michigan, a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan, and her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She is licensed in the State of North Carolina, and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Ms. Barbarin was also integral in drafting the Patient Bill of Rights in the State of Michigan, and has continued to review proposals for federal HIV/AIDS funding through the Department of Public Health for the state of Michigan.

With extensive experience in deportation defense, Ms. Barbarin navigates the entire process from arrests, release on bond, and hearings in Immigration Court.
Ms. Barbarin has a special focus on I-601 waivers of inadmissibility based on extreme hardship to qualifying relatives. She also prepares J waivers based on Interested Government Agency. Ms. Barbarin helps military families with special benefits for their spouses.
